Our Method and Charging Model

We systematically work with our enterprise partners to Conceptualise - Validate - Build - Launch - Operate - Scale a venture as we put form into an idea, testing and modelling from market response data, before reiterating and going back to the market for more insights, until we see a good fit with the market. Then we fire up the team and build it for launch as we continue to build on the initial traction to get more support for the business model, sometimes through a round of fundraising or strategic partnerships. At all times, we work with the enterprise champion to keep our eyes on the key indicators of success, including but often going beyond simple financial indicators. As the narrative for this exciting venture takes shape, it begins to excite those beyond the circle of the founders or the venture champions and radiates to the rest of the team - a self-powered engine has started.

Many entrepreneurs know this and they know that it takes an incredible amount of discipline to see this through. They also know that if the venture partner hasn’t been an entrepreneur before, hasn’t succeeded and even more so, hasn’t failed in ways big and small before, then the venture partner probably doesn’t know what it takes to partner them.

The team at Recast Ventures know the rush of scoring and the sour feeling of failing better than most and have trophies as much as battle scars to prove it.

And because we understand the joys, pains and risks of starting up something that could change the lives of the founder, we mitigate the risks by undercharging upfront and relying on a successful go to market and actually sales and profits as the incentive for onward remuneration. In this way, the venture and the enterprise partners are aligned: we have enough skin in the game to go all in to make it a success. Just as important, we have enough discipline and wisdom to call it unsustainable before it becomes too late.
